Tasty Eats in Mineola, Texas

Our Texas adventures continue in a small little east Texas town called Mineola. We happened upon this place when searching for a place to escape the heat and get some southern cooking.

Mineola is a railroad town and was established back in 1873. The historic aesthetic of the town speaks to its railway roots and is really a neat experience to visit.

We found a couple restaurants, La Waffalata and East Texas Burger Co., that looked cute and went inside to check it out.

We couldnt decide on La Waffalata or East Texas Burger but the hostess informed us that we could order from both restaurants so we got a cozy table at La Waffalata and did just that!

Look how cute these restaurants are!

Now for the food. We ordered a burger from the East Texas Burger Co. and a Turkey sandwich, Fried Catfish, and Crawfish/Shrimp Po’boy from La Waffalata. These were all delicious and did not disappoint!

Now that we were super stuffed we needed to walk this food off! In the same building as the Waffalata restaurant was an antique/consignment shop. This shop had great things in it! It was based on the style of mini stores, where you rent space within the store to make your own shop for people to buy. Look at all the cute shops within this place!

What a fun little hidden gem! Hope you enjoyed trippin with us to Mineola!
