Home Workout w/ My New Resistance Bands
Gyms are closed guys. . . GYMS ARE CLOSED ๐ therefore I have been forced to do home workouts and get creative.
I do have some weights and a some equipment at home that helps me through this time but those leg workouts are lacking without the gym equipment. So I decided to buy myself some resistance bands for squating.
It took me a while of researching these things to decide on which on to buy. I read so many reviews of the latex bands snapping during use. . . I dont know about you guys but that scares me lol
I finally decided on some cloth bands I found on Amazon. They were $32.99 and came with 3 different levels of resistance: Light, Medium, and Heavy. Also a cute little bag to carry them in. I really love the colors too!
I was weary about getting the cloth kind since most people you see online are using the latex but Im really glad I did. These are great quality and stretch with ease.
Below you can see how each size fits on me. The light has less resistance so I can get it higher up my thigh area. The medium and heavy are placed closer to me knees.
I used each band for various workouts to see the difference in the intensity of the workout. Below is how I used them to get a good lower body workout.
SQUATS
The Medium band gave me the resistance I wanted while allowing me a wider stance. The heavy was too tight for this and the light didnt give enough resistance. I did feel the burn through my thighs and butt.
LUNGES
Using the resistance band for lunges surprisingly added alot of resistance to my workout. It really felt great. Again, the medium was the best belt for this workout, the heavy doesnt allow proper form as it is too tight, and the light wasnt enough resistance for me.
SIDE LEG LIFTS
This exercise actually made my thighs burn, it was great. I did about 15 on each side x3. . Again the Medium was more than enough for me, the light wasnt enough, and the heavy Im going to have to work up to.
KICK BACKS
This one was great too and I could really feel it in my butt. I used the medium band but I think next time the heavy band will give me a better workout.
And thats it! I did these exercises as a sort of high intensity workout in between weighted sets and I was super sweaty and out of breath after each one. Im glad I decided to add these to my workout and look forward to my results.
I used the medium resistance band the most and plan to utilize the heavy resistance band intermittently to build strength. The light resistance band will be great to add to my weighted workouts. Highly recommend if your looking for a home workout to do without equipment.
Way to go, Jane!! You rock!!
