Touring Washington D.C. for the Weekend
This weekend I took a quick weekend trip to Washington D.C before the weather becomes too cold. Taking in the sights in our nation’s capital is one of the funnest, rewarding things I’ve done. Below are a few photos of the things I did.
It was an easy flight into Reagan National Airport. American flags everywhere, small, and easy to maneuver through.
I stayed at the Grand Hyatt and it was quiet and beautiful, it even had a Starbucks Reserve inside for quick coffee access.
I set out walking towards the national mall and found this cozy little spot for breakfast, Le Pain Quotidien. This place had lots of choices from pastries to egg plates.
The food here was delicious. I purchased the Egg, Cheddar & Avocado breakfast sandwich (added bacon) and the Ham & Gruyere omelet. Very tasty and served with a surprisingly refreshing salad.
Nice and full I proceeded towards the national mall and passed by Fords Theater, The Department of Justice, and alot of beautiful statues outside of the museums.
After an 8 min walk, I finally arrived at the national mall. First stop was the World War II Veteran Memorial. I didnt even know this existed, it was very quiet and serene.
Then the Washington monument: where it appears, there was a man mopping the dirt inside the reflecting pool. The Lincoln memorial was also very quiet and serene, thats my favorite place to be.
The Natural History Smithsonian Museum was full of exciting things. Did you know all the Smithsonian Museums in DC are free admission?
Pictured below you can see the booth where you can turn yourself into an early human. . .dont I look gorgeous?
And of course the glorious Capital :).
After a little rest it was time for dinner. The Smith restaurant was located close to the hotel and was a great choice for ambiance. The outside swing seating looked super fun, but it was a little cold.
The food was delicious, and the drinks were fancy and creative. I had the Gatsby drink that had American Gin, pomegranate, hibiscus, and prosecco. So good. For dinner I started with Crispy Sesame Calamari and for the main course, Ricotta Gnocchi. Everything was great and not too big of portions!
This little trip was pretty fun. Hope you enjoyed trippin with me once again. Cant wait til the next one!
