Protein Cake Balls in the Airfryer

I love me some cake. Who doesn’t right? I’ve recently changed up my macros and am eating a large percentage of protein vs fat and carbs so including cake and sweets into my diet isn’t very easy. Using protein and flour substitutes to make things helps with this, so I made some protein cake balls in my little air fryer to snack on. Here’s how:

You will need protein, oatmeal, and whatever fruit or chocolate you would like. I used blueberries.

Grind your oatmeal until it is flour consistency. Mix 1/2 a cup of oat flour with 1 1/2 cup of water and stir until dissolved

Now add in one scoop of protein and stir until combined

Microwave for 3-4 minutes until it becomes a cake-like consistency. Stir in fruit.

Place into fridge until cool and then roll into little balls. This is just like making meatballs. Place into the airfryer.

Cook at 370 degrees for 10 mins. Thats it! look how brown and crisp they are!

These were so simple to make. You can also cook real cake balls this way. I really enjoyed these and want to try and make them with chocolate protein next.

Those look so good! I have never bought protein powder before. Which one do you think would be best for a mature woman who is 60ish? TIA!

Hi Marsha! When buying a protein powder I try to look for something that does not have Carageenan or Maltodextrin in it. I find these irritate the stomach. They have some good garden of life protein powders that taste good at Walmart. I have yet to find a vegan/non-dairy protein powder that I like the flavor of. I used PEScience protein in this recipe and Im really enjoying all their flavors. Thanks for visiting!
