Las Vegas Star Trek Convention 2022

This years Star Trek Convention was a little different in that it was held at Bally’s Hotel on the strip instead of off strip at the Rio All Suites Hotel. This was a fun change and we enjoyed staying next to Bally’s at the Paris Hotel, just a quick indoor walk to the convention.

The theme this year was Star Trek Wrath of Khan’s 40th anniversary. They even showed this movie on a big screen in one of the large convention rooms, we watched a little of it.

Of course, our favorite part is pursuing the vendor area, seeing all the Star Trek stars signing autographs, and dressing up with everyone.

Since the death of Nichelle Nichols who played Uhura in the original series, there were also lots of tributes to her. Very Women empowering. . . .

The convention auditoriums were very large and if there was someone popular speaking, they would be full to capacity. The new Star Trek series actors were present as well. On the top floor of Bally’s was ‘Jimmy’s Place,’ a bar where you could get some drinks and coffee. Never really saw anyone there.

Right outside of Bally’s was a Giordano’s. This restaurant had authentic Chicago style pizza. Very unique and we enjoyed trying it out. We also had a great view of the strip as you can see.

The convention sold out pretty quick and we were lucky enough to get a one-day ticket. We had a blast! Thanks for tripping with me!
