Jaco Walk. . . Food and Fun in Costa Rica
Our first day in Costa Rica we ventured to the shops in Jaco. It was a hot and humid day but there was so much to see and eat, we had a blast.
JACO WALK
Jaco walk is a small little area of town that has a bunch of hipster type coffee and food places.
I came across this on a wall behind some of the stores, very pretty.
The town of Jaco itself had tons of shops and food choices, we enjoyed perusing the stores and looking for a good place for lunch.
EL HICAC
After inquiring about a restaurant along the beach, we were sent to El Hicac seafood restaurant. This place is beautiful and exactly the ambiance we were looking for. Check out the views!
Meals were served with a delicious rosemary bread with an olive tamponade butter. . delicious.
We ordered a lobster burger and a tuna burger, each was so meaty and delicious. The sauces were a little weird, one tasted like mayo and the other kinda sweet and spicy.
The rest of the table ordered the lobster, steak and shrimp, and a lobster and shrimp pasta. All were delicious and especially tasty eating alongside the ocean.
And of course you cant go anywhere in Costa Rica without ordering Ceviche. . . this was served with a side of plantain chips.
We were celebrating a birthday and they brought out a caramel Flan with candied plantain pieces, soooo good!
This restaurant was the best seafood places in Jaco. It was not cheap, we paid about $65 for the lobster and tuna burgers and the bottled water and coke. Worth it though!!
VISTA MAR
Later that evening we ate at another seafood restaurant up the street that was along the coast called Vista Mar. This place was very different but still good.
To start we had a martini and a tropical rum drink. The plantain cakes for an appetizer were amazing and my favorite part of the meal!
Although the food was good it was not as good as quality as lunch. We ordered Shrimp and lobster that came with rice and vegetables and some coconut shrimp.
The service was great and as a treat they brought out some really hot peppers that were intensely hot and made ppl sweat after eating half haha.
The cost of this restaurant was a little cheaper. We got 2 alcoholic drinks, lobster and shrimp plates, and a coke for $60.
After all the shopping and all the food we called it a night. Jaco, Costa Rica is such a fun place to visit hope you enjoyed trippin there with me!
