Refurbishing My Kitchen Cabinets

I’ve owned my house for a very long time and as time passes Ive started to see the need for some modernization. Starting with my kitchen. . today we will look at the cabinet refurbishing.

This is what the cabinets looked like before. . . a mess. haha! Definitely needed an upgrade. I wanted taller, a different color, and some handles.

I was referred to On Point Woodwork designs. These guys were great and very professional and talented.

The initial visit was to measure and give estimates. It was half the price to refurbish instead of getting new cabinets, so I went with that. I reviewed paint samples and chose a nice gray.

At the next visit, they removed all the doors and drawers and took them to their shop to sand and paint.

It took a couple weeks to paint the doors and drawers they took. During this time I went to Lowe’s and picked out my hardware. These big black handles were sooo nice. I needed about 16.

After a couple weeks they scheduled a day to paint the cabinets. They taped everything off and put-up plastic “walls” to ensure paint didn’t everywhere.

After they painted, they reattached the doors and drawers and added the hardware. They arrived at 1030am and were completely finished by 5pm. So quick and efficient and it came out beautiful!

What a difference! They look taller with the crown molding and the color, hardware, and shifting out of a couple of the cabinets made this look modern and amazing. I love it! (Ignore the hole above the stove, the microwave is on back order)

I would definitely recommend these guys if you are anywhere in New Mexico! Next up. . counter tops and backsplash 🙂
