Quarantine Shopping and Trader Joe’s Haul
Grocery shopping during the quarantine is very interesting and every place seems to have a different process for keeping us all healthy. This weekend was the first time Ive been to Trader Joe’s since the lockdown and I was very impressed with their safety operations there.
I waited in a line that had social distancing marks on the floor. There were a few people in front of me and it went pretty quick, about 5 mins. During this time I witnessed the guy manning the line consistently spraying down the carts, even leaving them wet. I love that since the wet time for this virus is 1 min. There was also a sign saying that you cannot use your own bag during this time. This is great too so not to spread things to the cashiers and back to us ๐
So I left my bag in a crate outside and picked it up on the way out. Normally I dont grab a cart but since I knew they were clean I did this time.
Inside the store was so nice since only a few people could be there and I quickly grabbed what I needed.
***A little Trippin with Jane quarantine safety Tip: prior to going in, I make sure I remove my credit card from my purse and place my phone in my pocket. I hold my card and my hand written grocery list in my hand and I do not touch anything except the groceries until I can clean my hands when I get back to the car. I also wear a mask ๐ cross contamination is real, so no gloves here.
I got some unique stuff this week so here is my Trader Joe’s haul:
High Protein Veggie Burger. People online rant and rave over these so Im excited to try!
Switching it up with some non vegan items this week and grabbed some delicious Salmon and those great egg noodles to toss in some olive oil with capers. . . gonna be yummy guys!
And of course some high protein tofu and riced cauliflower. These have become a staple for my lunches each week.
If you havent had this Mac n cheese with hatch green chile you are missing out. Ive had several variations of Mac n cheese with green chile and this is by far the best!
Next I got some bags of stir fry items to pair with the riced cauliflower
Ive started buying a bunch of edamame to add protein to various meals. Lean, healthy, and tasty.
I like buying my broccoli at Trader Joes, its the same price as a head of broccoli at the grocery store but already chopped :). Always tastes really fresh too.
The sweet potatoes in this bag are small and perfect to go with a meal.
These waffles were only $1.99 and they are gluten free. Cant wait to try
Grabbed some eggs and also a bag of already boiled eggs for my breakfast this week. Easy, quick, and protein packed!
Some random items below: Teriyaki sauce of sorts, refried beans for some burritos, Organic olive oil, and some fruit and yogurt mango gummys.
Now the final item I picked up because it looked so different and also delicious. Its called a Kunefe and it is made with shredded phyllo dough with cheese inside and topped with crushed pistachio. As you can see it looks super cheesy in the pic. Havent tried it yet but cant wait :D.
Hope you enjoyed seeing this week’s grocery goodies. Everyone stay safe out there!
