Purchasing My Second Tesla

I purchased my first Tesla Model 3 in 2019 and I have loved it ever since. I recently took it in to fix a trunk latch and fell in love with the Cherry red model 3 in the store. So I made a decision to sell my gray one and get the red.

ORDERING

Purchasing is very easy. From the website https://www.tesla.com/ you answer a handful of questions, pay a $250 fee and bam! your order is placed.

PREPARING FOR DELIVERY

From there you create an account (I already had one) and you provide the requested documents and get a delivery time frame.

You are also asked to download the app. There are things there that you have to complete in order to take delivery as well. You will continue to use this app on a daily basis to operate your vehicle.

The Tesla people communicate with you through text message and ensure that you have everything filled out and obtained financing once your VIN is assigned.

The process is very easy and they paid me a decent amount for my trade in.

DELIVERY

Delivery of this car was very different than the first time. The first time the car was delivered directly to my door, this time I had to drive to the nearest dealership to pick it up. The nearest dealership is in Colorado Springs, about 5 hours away. That was less convenient but I made the most of it. It took about 5 months after ordering to receive the car.

The Tesla dealership in Colorado Springs was very nice and everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable. The place is very modern and has espresso, tea, and water available.

It was fun sitting in the different models on display. Check out that Yoke steering wheel.

The whole signing of papers and receiving the car took about 30 mins. Look at that beautiful cherry red! You can see the gray car I traded in in the background.

The black sleeve has the two key cards and they gave us the spec sheet with the current price of the vehicle. As mentioned earlier, it took about 5 months from order to delivery to get the car. In that time, the car appreciated $5,000. Not bad.

Driving home and stopping at superchargers is always a unique experience. Charging at these stations is so much cheaper than gas and only takes about 20-30 mins each time. The entire round trip cost less than $50. The technology in the car lets you see how many charging stalls are available prior to your arrival. So efficient.

All in all this was a great experience. I made quite a large amount off my trade in, which has never been my experience in other vehicles. The only thing I need to figure out now is a name for this beauty! Thanks for trippin with me.
