Navajo Lake, New Mexico
Exploring up through Northwestern New Mexico, our next destination is Navajo lake. Navajo lake is up by Farmington, NM. Ive never been here before and the drive was breathtaking. Look at all that color!
Tucked away in the hills is the road to the lake. The first thing you see is the Navajo Dam. The reservoir was built in 1962 and extends several miles into the Colorado river.
The lake itself is just around the corner from the reservoir. It is very beautiful and we stopped to take in all the views.
Once the boat was in the water we received a nice ride in a golf cart to the lake.
Compared to other lakes in New Mexico this Marina was very nice and had a lot of things to offer.
Look how nice the little cafe and convenience store is. I had a great time looking for snacks!
Check out these Navajo Lake souvenirs.
There isn’t a lot of beach areas to camp around the lake, but this lake is great for boating and that is exactly what we did.
Just a quick little weekend trip for some much needed sun and relaxation. Thanks for trippin with me!
